What’s Covered:
All John Leighton branded products purchased directly from www.johnleighton.com.au are covered by a 12-month warranty against structural defects and hardware malfunctions.
Warranty Period:
The warranty begins on the confirmed delivery date of the item to the original purchaser’s address.
Warranty Conditions:

Items must be used exclusively for residential purposes.

Proper care and maintenance as per our guidelines must be followed.

The warranty is non-transferable and applies only to the original buyer.
Exclusions from Coverage:

Natural stone variations, such as veining and colour differences, are inherent characteristics and do not compromise the product’s integrity, so they are not classified as defects.

Filled or unfilled holes and veins in marble or stone are naturally occurring and not considered faults.

Due to the handcrafted nature of our items, minor variations in texture, edges, or slight shape deviations are expected and are not covered.

Timber and wood variations: Natural timber expands and contracts over time due to environmental factors. Variations in grain, knots, or minor movements in the wood are normal and do not qualify as faults.
Warranty Void Scenarios:
This warranty will be void if:

The product has been misused, subjected to accidents, improper cleaning, or neglected care instructions.

Damage occurs during transportation due to inadequate protection or improper handling.

General wear and tear, including fading of fabrics or finishes.

The product is used in a commercial setting despite being designed for residential use.

Any unauthorised modifications, repairs, or alterations are made by a third party.

The product is cleaned with harsh chemicals not recommended by John Leighton.

Damage is caused by pets, pests, insects (including termites), fire, or natural disasters.

The item is used in a non-household environment.
Making a Claim:
If your item arrives damaged or faulty, please complete our Warranty Claim Form, attaching images of the issue, your order number, and any supporting details.
Resolution Options:
Upon approval, we may offer repairs, replacement parts, or a full product replacement, depending on the circumstances.
Consumer Rights in Australia:
This warranty does not override consumer protections under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL). If you qualify as a consumer under the ACL, the following rights apply:
Our products come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.
You are entitled to a replacement or refund for major failures and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage.
You also have the right to repair or replacement if the goods fail to meet acceptable quality standards and the issue is not classified as a major failure.
